Stockholm!

Jake 'reading' the Metro in Swedish. On the train from Uppsala to Stockholm.

Central Station in Stockholm.

Inside City Hall. Known as the Blue room. This is where the nobel prize dinner is held.

A room in Stadshuset.

The Gold room in Stadshuset. The dancing after the nobel prize dinner is held here.

The cobblestoned streets of Gamla Stan, old town Stockholm.

Royal Castle in Gamla Stan.

Some narrow streets in Gamla Stan.

Main square in Gamla Stan.

Some of Stockholm's many bridges. Taken from a boat trip around the city.

Stockholm skyline. Stockholm has many waterfront views, it is comprised of several islands.

Jake with his Aunt Helena and cousin Arletta. We stayed with Arletta for our one night in Stockholm.

On the waterfront. These oblesiks have live indicators of water and air quality data.

Beautiful waterfront boulevard. The street runs on either side of this walkway and bicycle paths. Stockholm really caters to bikers, in fact so does Uppsala and maybe all of Sweden.

Stockholm waterfront again. Nice sunny day here.

Vasa ship in the Vasa Museum. This flagship sunk on it's maiden voyage and was in the Stockholm harbour for 333 years before it was raised to the surface.

I'm checking out one of the canons from the Vasa ship.

Birch trees and lilac bushes will always remind me of Sweden.

We stumbled on a Greenpeace protest on our walk through the city. They were protesting the Sweden supported whale hunt.

Jake with his childhood friend Piotr.

Back in Uppsala. Ocean's rented garden plot. The family grows all sorts of vegetables here. They actually have two plots side by side.
