The churches and islands

Today we went down to the Islands. Visited St. Chapelle and Notre Dame, and another Seine cruise, this time at night.

Typical Seine scene.

Lower hall ceiling of St. Chapelle.

Upstairs of St. Chapelle. Looking towards the back. The front was undergoing some restoration so we couldn't get a good look.

Some of the stained glass windows of St. Chapelle.

Part of the outside of St. Chapelle. Shows the stained glass from the outside.

The Notre Dame de Paris.

Inside. unlike St. Chapelle, Notre Dame has huge stone supports.

Large 15m rose window.

Looking towards the back and organ of Notre Dame.

Outside around the side of Notre Dame. Shows the rose window and flying buttress supports.

Around the island, Jake sitting on the Seine banks. Lots of little areas to walk and sit.

The Seine cruise at night was lovely. A different perspective and a few days later, we saw many of the sites we had visited over the last few days.

Eiffel tower from the night cruise. Gorgeous.
